Selected students look at extending their Media Studies knowledge.  They will prepare for two essays for the scholarship exam.  Some tutorials will be provided, but independent motivation is a must as well.

Students begin to look at how media texts are constructed, identifying key techniques used and look at features across different texts.  They work in small groups or individually to make a film trailer using editing tools.

In Level 2, students begin to look widely at the media, analysing why texts are constructed the way they are.  In the practical unit, students are introduced to journalism and print layout.

Level 3 Media Studies looks more widely at the media, making  links between society and media products and industries.  Students make extended media texts in the practical element of the course.
